Ferra began as Mast Farm Service in 1985 when Eli Mast opened a one-man repair shop near Millersburg, Ohio. The work grew from fixing farm equipment into full metal fabrication, covering custom builds, replacement parts, and attachments for skid steers and loaders.

This growth was driven by a simple philosophy: provide honest, skilled work and the customers will come. Along the way, we expanded our in-house capabilities through the acquisition of Evenheat Manufacturing, a local machine shop known for its popular brand of clothing irons.

This strategic move added significant machining and stamping capacity to better support production and specialty work, allowing us to serve a broader range of industrial clients.

As our business expanded, two customer groups became clear. Builders and manufacturers needed custom metalwork, while farmers and equipment owners needed high-quality attachments. Because “farm service” no longer fit the full scope of the work, we adopted the name Ferra, taken from “ferrum,” meaning iron.

This new identity reflects our core material and our commitment to the foundational strength of quality fabrication. Ferra now focuses on custom steel fabrication, and Mast Attachments continues as our signature product line.

This structure gives customers a clear path to what they need and a team that understands their work, honoring our agricultural roots while forging a new path as a leader in modern metalworking. That evolution is an essential part of any honest telling about Ferra Manufacturing in Ohio.
